2019 Atlanta Braves Pre-season Top Prospects: Honorable Mentions

Talking Chop’s Top 30 prospects list will drop this week but before that happens we take a closer look at several names that just missed the cut.

Which Braves’ player will still be with the team in 2025?’s Will Leitch attempts to predict one player from each team’s 40-man roster who will still be with the same club six years from now in 2025. The pick for the Braves is Ronald Acuña Jr. who will be a free agent after the 2024 season but will hopefully be sticking around Atlanta for a long time.

Cristian Pache makes MLB Pipeline’s 2019 All-Defensive team

Braves’ outfielder Cristian Pache has been named to MLB Pipeline’s All-Defensive team for the second consecutive season. Per Jonathan Mayo, Pache received more mention than any other prospect. He joins the Nationals Victor Robles and Tigers’ Jake Rogers as the only repeat members.

“He’s a potential 70 grade defender in center field, where every aspect of his defense is an asset,” another AL scouting executive said. “A true ball-hawking, gap-closing center fielder who plays with a reckless abandon to go along with a plus arm. He has a rare combination of athleticism and instincts for the position; he can really slow the game down.”

Murray is widely expected to enter the NFL Draft on Monday and may put his baseball career on hold or end it all together.

That would all need to be approved by the league but Oakland is apparently operating on the assumption that it would be.
