Anibal Sanchez pitched well but the Braves were unable to find enough offense against the Rockies in a 4-2 loss Sunday afternoon at SunTrust Park. The loss was Atlanta’s fourth straight and wraps up their homestand with a 6-5 record.

Prior to Sunday’s game, Atlanta reinstated reliever Sam Freeman from the 10-day disabled list and optioned Kolby Allard to Triple-A. Freeman had been on the DL since late July due to shoulder inflammation.

Stephen Strasburg is expected to be activated from the disabled list in time to make Wednesday’s start against Philadelphia. Strasburg hasn’t pitched since July 20 against the Braves. Shoulder and neck injuries have limited him to just 14 starts this season.
Cubs’ starter Yu Darvish left Sunday’s rehab start after just one inning. He warmed up in the second but was wincing notably while warming up for the second. The Cubs signed him to a six-year, $126 million deal this past offseason but has made just eight starts for Chicago this season.
The Chicago White Sox announced on Sunday that they will promote top pitching prospect Michael Kopech and he will make his major league debut against the Twins on Tuesday.
The Twins placed right-hander Ervin Santana back on the 10-day disabled list on Sunday due to a finger injury. This is Santana’s second stint on the DL for the injury and he is scheduled to see a specialist on Tuesday.
Didi Gregorius was injured in a collision with Toronto first baseman Kendry Morales and could be headed to the disabled list. Gregorius injured his heel while beating out an infield single in the first inning of Sunday’s game.
