Sam Freeman is back with the Atlanta Braves for Sunday’s series finale against the Colorado Rockies. Atlanta reinstated Freeman from the 10-day disabled list Sunday morning and optioned LHP Kolby Allard back to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Freeman has struggled this season and was placed on the disabled list in late July due to shoulder inflammation. He made three rehab appearances, one with Low-A Rome and two more at Gwinnett allowing two hits and one run over 2 2/3 innings.

Freeman has appeared in 49 games with Atlanta this season posting a 5.45 ERA in 39 2/3 innings.

Allard will rejoin Gwinnett’s rotation after struggling in three big-league appearances. He allowed 19 hits and 11 earned runs in just eight innings.
