I don’t know if these are the dog days of summer, yet, but if every dog has his day during the dog days, then Charlie Culberson is starting at second base again, or something. The point is, Charlie Culberson is starting in lieu of Ozzie Albies tonight. And hitting second. How about that?

This will be Culberson’s sixth start at the keystone this season, and his seventh start batting second. The Braves have not deployed this lineup, with Culberson second and Camargo fifth yet this year. None of the Braves have ever seen Trevor Richards, given his rookie status and the fact that he has yet to pitch against Atlanta.

Meanwhile, the Marlins start this array of landlubbers:

Weirdly enough, this is actually Brian Anderson’s first time hitting third this season. Starlin Castro, Rafael Ortega, and J.T. Realmuto are the only Miami position players to have ever faced Sanchez, and it’s been a handful of PAs for all three. Castro is the only one with a hit in his career against the Braves’ right-hander.
