Fresh off of a loss on Saturday, the Atlanta Braves will try to get back in the win column and nail down a series win in the process when they wrap up a three-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers. Atlanta pounded out 13 hits in Friday’s 10-1 win in the series opener. Julio Teheran threw six strong innings on Saturday before a three-run eighth sent Atlanta to a 4-2 loss.
Sean Newcomb will be on the mound for the Braves and will be looking to continue a strong stretch. Newcomb came within one out of throwing a no-hitter in his last start at SunTrust Park. He has held opponents to one run in each of his last three starts as span totaling 20 2/3 innings. Newcomb allowed five hits and one run over six innings in his last start in Washington.
Milwaukee will counter with right-hander Chase Anderson who is looking to bounce back from a short outing his last time out. Anderson lasted just 4 2/3 innings in his last start allowing five hits and four runs including a pair of home runs against the Padres. He walked four and struck out four. Anderson has struggled to keep the ball in the yard this season allowing 23 home runs and four in his last two starts.
