The Atlanta Braves got their homestand off on a good note Friday night with a 10-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. They will look for more of the same when the two teams meet again Saturday night.
Julio Teheran will be on the mound on Saturday and is in need of a good performance. Teheran struggled early in his last start but recovered long enough to last 5 2/3 innings while allowing five hits and three runs against the Mets. He has allowed 10 earned runs over his last 15 innings and has walked 10 during that stretch.
Teheran hasn’t faced the Brewers this season but has performed well against them historically posting a 3.18 ERA in seven career starts.
The Brewers will counter with left-hander Wade Miley who has allowed three runs or less in all seven of his starts. Miley has a 2.10 ERA in 34 1/3 innings but some of his peripheral numbers suggest that he has been fortunate. He has pitched around a lot of baserunners and is walking close to five per nine innings.
That could be good news for a Braves team that has handled left-handed pitching well this season. Atlanta is hitting .269 as a team against left-handed pitching and has a wRC+ of 111 which is tops in the National League.
First pitch is scheduled for around 7:10 p.m. ET and will be a national broadcast available on FS1.
