Hopefully Lucas Sims and the rest of the Gwinnett Stripers, in particular the pitching staff, have some sort of frequent driver program in place.
Lucas Sims has been up and down from the minors. Sims appeared in last night’s loss to the Giants and was ok in striking out six batters and allowing two earned runs. However, as a result he was not going to be available for Sunday’s game so the Braves made a roster move.
The #Braves selected the contract of RHP Luke Jackson from Triple-A Gwinnett and optioned RHP Lucas Sims to Gwinnett.— Gabe Burns (@GabeBurnsAJC) May 6, 2018
Luke Jackson has had a bit of a troubled history with the Braves as a reliever as he has posted a 4.85 ERA in 52 innings over the last couple of years with the club. In the minors in 2018, Jackson has posted a 3.86 ERA in five appearances with Gwinnett.
Meanwhile, Sims will likely slide back into Gwinnett’s rotation for the time being. In the majors in 2018, Sims has posted a 11.25 ERA in just two appearances. However, in three starts at Triple-A, he has posted a 1.46 ERA in 12.1 innings with 16 strikeouts and 10 walks.
