Mike Soroka turned in a dazzling performance in his major league debut outdueling Noah Syndergaard in a 3-2 win for the Atlanta Braves over the New York Mets.
Freddie Freeman and the Braves offense got off to a good start tacking three runs on Syndergaard in the first inning. Freeman finished 2-for-5 on the night with two RBI coming on this first inning double.

Soroka was the story in this one though however. He allowed six hits and one run over six innings while striking out five and walking no one. He needed only 80 pitches to navigate those six innings and was in control every step of the way.

Ozzie Albies went 1-for-5 at the plate but came up with the spectacular defensive play late to help Altanta hang on to the lead.
