Albies led off the game with a double and later scored on this RBI single by Freddie Freeman. Freeman went 2-for-3 with a walk in the game raising his average to .325 on the season.
After struggling in his last two starts, Brandon McCarthy needed a good performance and he delivered allowing five hits and one run over six innings. He struck out eight and walked just two.
Albies got Atlanta’s eighth inning rally started with a triple to right center. Albies went 2-for-4 on the night with two more runs scored.
That set the table for Acuña who followed with an RBI single to put the Braves in front for good. Atlanta would tack on a pair of insurance runs via bases loaded walks in the inning before Arodys Vizcaino set the Cubs down in the ninth to secure the victory.
