Braves carry lead into the ninth but come up on the short end of a 3-2 loss

MLB: Chicago Cubs at Atlanta Braves Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves let a 2-1 lead slip away in the ninth inning for a 3-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs.

Ender Inciarte stayed hot in this one going 2-for-4 at the plate including his fourth home run of the season.

The score would remain tied until the eighth when Ronald Acuña Jr. launched his first home run at SunTrust Park to give the Braves the lead.

Mike Foltynewicz pitched into and out of trouble but kept the Braves in it allowing three hits, five walks and an unearned run over five innings. He struck out 10 for the first time since last August.

Arodys Vizcaino would give the lead up in the ninth and two crucial plays from earlier in the game loomed large. Peter Moylan summed up the replay situation with some advice for the MLB.
