Newcomb strong again as Braves defeat Marlins 4-3
Sean Newcomb allowed just one hit over six shutout innings as the Atlanta Braves defeated the Miami Marlins 4-3. Ender Inciarte hit a two-run home run in the sixth while Preston Tucker delivered an insurance run in the ninth with a pinch hit single. Arodys Vizcaino allowed a three-run home run to Justin Bour in the ninth but Atlanta held on for the win.
Braves vs Cubs schedule and probable pitchers
Atlanta will wrap up their road trip on Monday with a make up game at Wrigley Field against the Cubs. The two teams will then return to SunTrust Park for a three-game set in Atlanta.

No timetable for Heyward’s return (concussion)
Jason Heyward is eligible to be activated from the seven-day concussion disabled list on Monday but there is currently no timetable for his return according to MLB.com’s Carrie Muskat. Heyward banged his head on the outfield wall while trying to make a catch last Sunday. He is scheduled to travel with the team to Atlanta so it is possible we could see him at some point in the series.
Mariners’ Robinson Cano breaks bone in right hand
The Mariners will be without second baseman Robinson Cano for the foreseeable future after the eight-time All-Star suffered a broken hand in Sunday’s game against the Tigers. Cano was struck by a pitch from Detroit’s Blaine Hardy. He left the game and was later seen wearing a cast. He will be reexamined on Tuesday and could need surgery.
Adam Wainwright likely to go back on the disabled list
Adam Wainwright is likely headed back to the disabled list after he experienced persistent pain in his right elbow during his start at San Diego on Sunday. Wainwright struggled allowing two runs, three hits and a career-high six walks in just 2.1 innings.
