In a game that shouldn’t have been played at all given the weather conditions, the Atlanta Braves built a 10-2 lead but saw it slip away thanks to a 9-run eighth inning by the Cubs in a 14-10 loss.

Several Braves players weren’t happy about playing in Saturday’s weather conditions. Freddie Freeman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s David O’Brien that he hopes they use better judgement on Sunday.
Hopefully tomorrow (Sunday) they have a little better sense of what’s going on,” he said “We were just lucky no one got hurt. You never know what can happen the next couple of days, how people are feeling. Win or lose, that was a tough one to play.”
Luiz Gohara scheduled for rehab start on Tuesday
Luiz Gohara is scheduled to make his first rehab start for Gwinnett on Tuesday and is expected to throw about 65 pitches or four innings. He will continue his rehab until he has built his stamina up to about the 95 pitch range.

Dinelson Lamet to undergo Tommy John surgery
The San Diego Padres will be without right-hander Dinelson Lamet for the remainder of the 2018 season after it was determined that he will need Tommy John surgery. Lamet suffered an elbow strain at the end of spring training and it a recent MRI revealed a torn ulnar collateral ligament.
