In many ways Tuesday night was a showcase for Atlanta’s rebuild as the major league club squared off against some of the top prospects in the organization. They didn’t disappoint either.
Cristian Pache came into the game having never hit a home run as a professional but he eliminated that streak with a pair of homers off of starter Sean Newcomb. Newcomb allowed six hits and three runs over 4.2 innings. He struck out six and walked two.
Ronald Acuna went 1-for-3 at the plate while Ray-Patrick Didder had a run scoring triple for the Future Stars. Mike Soroka got the start and allowed two hits and a run in an inning of work while striking out two.
The Braves will set their roster for Opening Day on Wednesday and then open the season with a three-game set against the Phillies on Thursday.
