Braves’ camp will be loaded with top prospects
MLB.com’s Mark Bowman on how the Braves’ spring training roster will have a much younger feel in 2018. Last season Atlanta attempted to fortify its rotation with a pair of 40-year old pitchers in R.A. Dickey and Bartolo Colon. This year the group will feature seven of MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 list.

MLB.com’s Jonathan Mayo highlights six prospects from each league that could emerge as Rookie of the Year candidates in 2018. Three of the six from the National League side are Atlanta Braves prospects including pitchers Max Fried and Luiz Gohara along with outfielder Ronald Acuna.

Top agent calls out MLB owners over lack of free agent signings in fiery Twitter post
Prominent agent Brodie Van Wagenen called out MLB owners on Friday and says that players are “outraged” over the slow offseason. He also calls for a potential spring training boycott by the players.
Yankees have discussed Mike Moustakas
The New York Yankees have reportedly shown interest in third baseman Mike Moustakas according to FanRag’s Jon Heyman. However, with the team looking to stay under the luxury tax threshold, a deal may be unlikely. Moustakas was thought to be one of the top free agents entering the offseason but the stalled market may lead him to accept a much cheaper deal than was originally anticipated.
Marlins win one, lose one arbitration case
Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto became the first player to lose an arbitration case this offseason when an arbitrator sided with the Marlins and their $2.9 million offer. The team wasn’t as fortunate with first baseman Justin Bour who won his case and will receive $3.4 million this season.
