According to Braves GM Alex Anthopoulos, the club has three needs at the top of his wish list for the offseason. Those consist of one starting pitcher, a closer, and an outfielder, which is admittedly a tall task for one winter.
The Braves designated Adam McCreery for assignment of Monday following the signing of Brian McCann, and on Wednesday traded the left-hander to the Dodgers for cash considerations.
After designating McCreery on Monday, the club designated another left-handed pitcher on Tuesday in Ricardo Sanchez. On Wednesday the club traded Sanchez to the Mariners, again for cash considerations.
