The Peoria Javelinas and Salt River Rafters will meet Saturday afternoon in the Arizona Fall League Championship Game. The game will get underway at 3 p.m. ET and can be seen on the MLB Network and MLB.com.
Peoria dominated the competition going 21-9 and won the Western Division by nine full games. Salt River finished 16-14 to secure the East title. The game won’t be short on star power as it will include four of MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 prospects in second baseman Keston Hiura, outfielder Cristian Pache, shortstop Carter Kieboom and right-handed pitcher Jon Duplantier.
Pache is the biggest Braves prospect on Peoria’s roster but Braxton Davidson, Thomas Burrows and Kyle Muller have all performed well. Davidson got off to a slow start but finished on a tear slugging six home runs with 8 of his 15 hits going for extra bases.
Muller joined Pache on the Fall Stars team and has allowed eight hits and three runs in 10 2/3 innings. He has struck out 15 and walked eight. Burrows has found similar success allowing 11 hits and three earned runs in 12 innings. He has struck out 13 and walked four.
