Braves announce extension for Brian Snitker
After a season of surprises, exceeded expectations, and plenty of criticism, Brian Snitker will return as manager for the Braves in 2019. In fact, Atlanta awarded Snitker a deal that runs thru 2020 and includes a club option for 2021. Snitker has said on multiple occasions that he is a Brave, and that will remain true for at least the next two seasons.

Brian Snitker has earned the opportunity to further evolve as a manager
Demetrius Bell says that Brian Snitker has earned the chance to further evolve, as he showed an effort to do so in 2018 and could reasonably be expected to continue that trend. Snitker is most definitely an old-school manager, but showing an ability and willingness to adopt a semi-analytical approach may have been enough to save his job when looked at alongside Snitker’s ability to maintain harmony in the clubhouse.
