Braves minor league pitcher handed 50 game suspension

Atlanta Braves minor league pitcher Gabriel Noguera received a 50-game suspension on Friday for a second positive test of what was called a drug of abuse. Noguera spilt the 2017 season between the Braves’ Dominican Summer League team and the Gulf Coast League. Combined he posted a 1.58 ERA in 51.1 innings.

Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos has already indicated that Julio Teheran, Mike Foltynewicz and Brandon McCarthy would likely fill three of the spots.
