Southern League All-Star Game - Cancelled
MAN rain sucks
Florida Fire Frogs 0, Tampa Yankees 6
- Austin Riley, 3B: 1-4, .251/.315/.397
- Alay Lago, 2B: 2-4, .280/.317/.354
- Ricardo Sanchez, SP: 4 IP, 8 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 4.48 ERA
Tough night for the Fire Frogs as a combination of defensive miscues, offensive ineptitudes, and tough night for Ricardo Sanchez led to their downfall by the score of 6-0. The peripheral performance from Ricardo in this game looked good with just one walk against six strikeouts in the game. Unfortunately, in addition to some struggles on the defensive side of the ball, Ricardo was unable to pitch his way out of trouble and the running game gave him fits. After Taylor Lewis allowed a run in his first relief appearance since 6/4, the rest of the bullpen (Josh Graham, Jacob Webb, and Sean McLaughlin) combined to throw three scoreless innings.
There is not much to talk about on offense as the Fire Frogs only managed to record 5 hits in the game, none of which went for extra bases. Alay Lago had a pair of hits to get the gold star for best offensive performer of the day. The important news from this game offensively is that Alex Jackson is back in the lineup and has now played in back to back games. He has yet to record a hit in his return, but it is nice to see him back in the lineup as the Fire Frogs have struggled mightily on offense of late without him.
