The Atlanta Braves made a flurry of roster moves in advance of Friday’s series opener in Cincinnati. As expected, the team activated third baseman Adonis Garcia and reliever Eric O’Flaherty from the disabled list. The team also called up infielder Johan Camargo from Triple-A.
To make room on the active roster, the team designated outfielder Emilio Bonifacio for assignment and optioned pitcher Matt Wisler and utility man Jace Peterson to Gwinnett.

Garcia put up a .237/.278/.348 slash line in 34 games before hitting the disabled list due to an Achilles problem. He is expected to be in a bench role upon his return with Rio Ruiz continuing to see regular playing time at third base.
O’Flaherty had been on the disabled list due to a sore back. He has struggled overall in 18 appearances this season posting a 6.59 ERA. However, he has limited left handed batters to .207 average and gives Brian Snitker another left handed option in the bullpen.
Camargo has had a couple of stints with the Braves already this season but hasn’t seen a lot of playing time appearing in just eight games. He was slashing .311/.353/.500 in 31 games at Gwinnett and is a switch hitter which adds more versatility to the bench.
