Moore will come to Atlanta if he has “complete control”
Dayton Moore’s name continues to be linked with the Atlanta Braves, but the rumors continue to stay the same when it comes to what it would take for Moore to come back to the Braves. Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe is saying that Dayton Moore would need “complete control” of the baseball operations if he came, which means that John Hart would have to give up his role. So once again, it definitely seems like if Moore comes then Hart will go.
Doug Harris emerges as prime candidate for vacant GM job
Meanwhile, if John Hart stays and the Braves just choose to fill the GM position, it appears that they could be inclined to take Nationals GM Mike Rizzo’s advice and bring in Doug Harris. Mark Bowman tweeted that if Hart continues on, then Harris could be considered as a “top candidate.”
A look at the current roster make-up of the Braves
Our friends over at Walk-Off Walk figured that now was as good of a time as ever to take stock of the roster and where the money is currently going and how each part of the roster looks as the offseason begins. The author notes that this is definitely a weird time for the roster considering the state of the front office, but it’s also an interesting point of reference as the Braves go forward with the offseason.
Braves business side is pleased with first season at SunTrust Park
While the front office is dealing with turbulent times at the moment, it appears that things are lovely as far as the business side of things are concerned. Early indications are that the first season at SunTrust Park and The Battery was a success, and Mike Plant talked to Ricky Leroux of the Marietta Daily-Journal about it.
The organization is “extremely proud” with how the first season went, Plant said, “knowing the incredible amount of work and effort that went into this really aggressive timeline, to have SunTrust Park up and ready and certainly in a place where we needed to be to play that first game and bring a full house of 41,000-plus fans in there.”

Boston gets off the mat and blows out Houston
The first inning of today’s game between the Red Sox and Astros went a lot like how the first two games in Houston started. However, Boston didn’t just lay down and go into the offseason lightly. Instead, they exploded for 10 runs in order to get on the board in the series and keep their season alive.
New York edges past Cleveland to stay alive
Meanwhile, Boston’s arch-rival also managed to avoid being eliminated on Sunday. The Yankees beat Cleveland 1-0, and they have some excellent pitching and a solo home run from Greg Bird to thank for making sure that New York’s season lasts for at least another night.
