With John Coppolella’s resignation, John Hart will assume the role of the Braves’ general manager for at least the time being. Hart is currently the team’s president of baseball operations but his contract is also up at the end of this season.
Hart’s stay as GM isn’t expected to be a long one and the Braves are already launching a search for their next general manager. While that process may take some time to play out, expect to hear current Kansas City GM Dayton Moore’s name come up a lot.
John Hart will assume #Braves GM role for now but rumors of #Royals GM Dayton Moore ending up where learned craft never abate

While Moore is a candidate that has ties to the organization, this is a job that will and should be coveted by many around the league.
Before the Dayton Moore rumor mill gets to warp speed, know this: The Braves' GM job, especially if Hart goes, is exceedingly coveted.

The Braves have a plethora of resources, a new ballpark and one of the best minor league systems in the league. No matter how this turns out, there is a healthy foundation to build on.
