The only thing that is definite about the 2018 Atlanta Braves coaching staff is that Brian Snitker will remain the manager.
Beyond that, no announcements have been made, although a name emerged on Tuesday morning as a potential option.
According to MLB.com’s Mark Bowman, Walt Weiss could potentially join Atlanta’s staff next season as the team’s bench coach.
The Braves haven't announced their coaching changes, but Walt Weiss is among the possible replacements, possibly to serve as the bench coach— Mark Bowman (@mlbbowman) October 17, 2017
Weiss previously managed the Colorado Rockies from 2013-16, compiling a record of 283-365. He stepped down at the conclusion of the 2016 season.
Weiss concluded his 14-year career in Atlanta, playing his final three seasons (1998-2000) with the Braves. He was elected as the starting shortstop for the National League All-Star team in 1998.
