When you are struggling offensively, the last thing you want to see is an ace pitcher who is at the top of his game. However, that is exactly the situation the Atlanta Braves will face Saturday night when they try to cool off Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw.

Kershaw is off to an unbelievable start this season going 7-1 with a 1.56 ERA in 11 starts so far this season. He has been down right dominant posting 105 strikeouts while holding opposing batters to just a .169 average. Oh by the way, he has walked just five batters the entire season and two the entire month of May.

Kershaw allowed 10 hits and one run over eight innings against the Braves in a start back on April 21. The Dodgers prevailed in 10 innings but statistically, it was one of Kershaw's worst starts of the season. Kershaw is 2-0 with a 1.69 ERA in seven career starts against the Braves.

Mike Foltynewicz was scheduled to start for Atlanta on Saturday but was scratched and placed on the disabled list Friday due to a bone spur in his throwing elbow. Bud Norris will come out of the bullpen to make his first start since April 27. Norris opened the season in the Braves' rotation but struggled going 1-4 with an 8.74 ERA in five starts. He has fared much better as a reliever allowing just four earned runs in 17 1/3 innings in May.

The Dodgers also made a roster move prior to Friday's game placing outfielder Yasiel Puig on the disabled list with a hamstring strain. He was replaced on the active roster by Scott Van Slyke who had been out due to a lower back injury.
