The Atlanta Braves head west Friday night to open a three-game set against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Julio Teheran will be on the mound for Atlanta and will be looking for his first career win against the Dodgers.
Teheran enters the game with a 1-5 record but with a 2.77 ERA. He has been lights out in his last seven starts allowing just seven runs to go along with 45 strikeouts in 46 innings. He however has just one win to show for that fine effort. Teheran was hampered a bit in his last start by a blister on his right foot. He allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings in a 7-3 loss to the Marlins.
The Dodgers will counter with right hander Kenta Maeda who is 4-3 with a 3.00 ERA in 10 starts so far this season. Maeda has been really good on the road posting a 1.91 ERA while going 3-0. At Dodgers Stadium he has been much more hittable allowing 13 runs in 28 2/3 innings.
The Braves have played better of late and have gone 4-3 over their last two series against the Marlins and the San Francisco Giants. Atlanta is still 16-37 on the season but are 10-14 on the road. The Dodgers come into the game having lost two straight and are 5.5 games back of the Giants for first place in the NL West Division.
