FanDuel Fantasy Baseball Picks: June 29

Afternoon baseball is fun.

Jim Cowsert-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves don't play baseball until Wednesday evening, but there are seven (!) MLB games to enjoy during the afternoon hours. That, in short, is awesome.

SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we will bring you regularly scheduled lineup recommendations throughout the 2016 season. Today, we will tackle the "early only" slate, as we attempt to make watching baseball even more enjoyable before Atlanta's action begins.

Editor's Note: New players win cash in their first league or get their entry fee refunded! Offered in partnership with FanDuel.

Be careful out there.

Note: This lineup would be used in today's 12:10 pm ET "early only" contest.

P - Archie Bradley ($6,700)

C - Russell Martin ($3,400)

1B - Joey Votto ($3,200)

2B - Daniel Descalso ($3,400)

3B - Jake Lamb ($3,700)

SS - JJ Hardy ($2,600)

OF - Charlie Blackmon ($4,500)

OF - Adam Jones ($3,800)

OF - Mark Trumbo ($3,600)

The pitching spot is a volatile one today, as David Price (at $10,800) is the only option that approaches "safety". Given that I plan to use this lineup in tournaments, though, I'm taking a shot on Bradley. He has the talent to post a gem, and in a match-up against the Phillies during a day game, the upside is enough to justify the low price point.

In the lineup, we're rolling with a full-blown Baltimore Orioles stack. The O's face off with Padres left-hander Christian Friedrich, and I'm loving the right-handers. That means Hardy, Jones and Trumbo are some of my favorite plays. Elsewhere, Blackmon is worth the lofty price in a home game (Coors!) against a questionable right-hander, and that also applies to teammate Daniel Descalso and Russell Martin (Coors again!).

Throw in my obsession with Joey Votto and Jake Lamb and call it a day. Let's do this.
