The Atlanta Braves delivered their first walkoff win of the season on Wednesday but may have lost infielder Gordon Beckham to another hamstring injury.

Freeman's blast gives Braves first walkoff win of season

The Braves rallied to tie the game in the ninth and then won it in the 11th thanks to a walkoff home run by Freddie Freeman. The blast was Freeman's ninth of the season and gave reliever Chris Withrow his first win since the 2013 season.

Mallex ended May with a .267/.300/.493 line and 109 wRC+ while splitting time between lead off and the 9th spot in the order. He was top-three on the Braves in homers, RBI, runs scored and stolen bases despite not playing everyday; he struggled against lefties and usually sat on the bench in favor of Jeff Francoeur, but mashed righties. Smith's OPS against right-handed pitchers is now .855.

Beckham reinjures hamstring vs Giants

Gordon Beckham left Wednesday's game during the sixth inning after tweaking his hamstring while running to first. Chase d'Arnaud replaced him at short in the seventh and Beckham will be reevaluated on Thursday. He missed about three weeks earlier in the season with a similar injury.

Garcia is a regular at third base again for Braves

After going to the minors to play exclusively in left field, Adonis Garcia has returned to the majors and once again appears to be the Braves' everyday third baseman. Garcia made his fifth consecutive start at third on Wednesday since returning from Gwinnett.

Felix Hernandez out with calf strain

The Mariners placed starter Felix Hernandez on the disabled list Wednesday because of a strained calf. The injury isn't thought to be serious and Hernandez is only expected to miss two starts.

Marlon Byrd receives 162-game suspension for PED use

Indians outfielder Marlon Byrd was hit with a 162-game suspension due to testing positive for PED's for the second time. Byrd previously served a 50-game ban back in 2012.
