Freddie Freeman became the first Braves player to hit for the cycle since 2008 while Chase d’Arnaud delivered a walk off single in the 13th in a 9-8 win over the Cincinnati Reds.
MRI shows no damage to Simmons’ shoulder
Shae Simmons’ long road back to the majors hit another stumbling block earlier this week when he experienced shoulder discomfort. An MRI showed no structural damage, but Simmons remains on the sidelines.
Simmons was relieved when an MRI on Monday showed no structural damage to his shoulder. The Braves' medical staff diagnosed his ailment as latissimus dorsi tendinitis. Braves manager Brian Snitker said Simmons will spend the next couple of weeks resting and rehabbing at the club's Spring Training complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Wentz, Muller excited to start Braves careers
Joey Wentz and Kyle Muller were both in attendance for Wednesday’s game at Turner Field but both will be headed to Orlando on Thursday to begin their professional careers.
"It's really a dream come true," Muller said. "I mean, I've been saying it a bunch, but ever since I was a little kid, this is what I've wanted to do. Now that it's actually happening, it's almost hard to believe."

Rockies designate Jose Reyes for assignment
Jose Reyes’ career with the Colorado Rockies is now over. The team activated him from the restricted list on Wednesday and immediately designated him for assignment. Reyes completed a 52-game suspension for violating Major League Baseball’s domestic abuse policy.
Royals designate Omar Infante for assignment
Omar Infante is the odd man out in Kansas City after he was designated for assignment by the club on Wednesday. Infante is hitting .239 in 39 games with the Royals this season and is still owed about $14 million. The Royals now have 10 days to trade him or release him.
