Atlanta Braves third baseman Adonis Garcia left Thursday’s game with what was described as left ankle soreness. He is currently listed as day-to-day.
The ankle appeared to flare up on Garcia in the bottom of the seventh while he was running the bases. He reached on a throwing error by Zack Cozart and later advanced to second on a RBI hit by Jace Peterson. Erick Aybar then entered the game as a pinch runner.
Garcia has been red hot at the plate of late batting .400 with two homers and four RBIs over his last seven games. After struggling defensively at third base through the early part of the season, Garcia has just one error at third since rejoining the team back at the end of May. On the season, he is hitting .256 with three homers and 14 RBIs.
