For many Braves fans, watching Erick Aybar’s play this year has been among the hardest things to deal with. With the loss of Andrelton Simmons, Aybar was supposed to be an adequate bridge to when top prospects Ozzie Albies and Dansby Swanson were ready to fill in the position. Instead, he was arguably the worst full-time player in baseball before he started losing time and then went on the DL. Looks like we may see Aybar play for the Braves pretty soon again
Roster move: Erick Aybar has been activated from the disabled list. Daniel Castro has been optioned to @GwinnettBraves.— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) June 12, 2016
Aybar did a seven game rehab stint at Gwinnett where he slashed .172/226/.207 which essentially mirrors his production at the major league level this year.
Daniel Castro returns to Gwinnett after slashing .182/.220/.190 in 2016 as primarily a defensive replacement and spot starter who could play multiple positions in the field well defensively.
