2016 MLB Draft: The Braves select RHP Bryse Wilson in the 4th round

With their 4th round pick (109th overall), the Braves selected RHP Bryse Wilson out of Orange High School in North Carolina. The Braves have now selected pitchers with 5 of their first 6 selections.

Wilson is a North Carolina commit that was a two sport star for Orange High School (he played linebacker, quarterback, and wide receiver as well) who threw multiple no-hitters this year. He features a plus fastball that he can get up to 95-96 but usually sits a bit lower than that. He has a decent slider that could end up being a plus pitch, but reports seem to be very split whether that will happen or not. Without a real third pitch and questions about his secondary stuff, he could end up in the bullpen but the Braves must see something to draft him this high.
