Talking Chop Podcast Episode 15: Julio Teheran, Freddie Freeman, Nick Markakis and Statistics

New, 3 comments

The podcast is late this week, but we're hoping you'll forgive us, as there's a pretty good reason that is going to shake things up a bit moving forward.

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

On the 15th episode of the Talking Chop Podcast, Brad and Carlos throw out any limitations that may have been in place in regards to time, and talk about a plethora of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Julio Teheran's trade value
  • Freddie Freeman's slump
  • Nick Markakis' general lack of power
  • The void that is Erick Aybar at shortstop and in the lineup
  • How both Brad and Carlos like to go about evaluating and analyzing players and a fairly detailed (relative to what we usual do) discussion about advanced metrics and the like

This is also Carlos' last podcast as he's off to San Diego where he will be covering the Padres for MLB.com. He's told us that he will still, in secret, root for the Braves. Don't hate him too badly. In the meantime, Brad — who has ever been the voice of reason and the carrying tool of this podcast in the first place — will take on the role of host and keep the Talking Chop Podcast alive.

When the Braves lost Jason Heyward, they still had to go out there and play games. Similarly, the podcasts will keep coming to you once a week. You can find the show via the iTunes Store or you can find us at our SoundCloud page.

Enjoy.
