Happy Monday, folks. The Atlanta Braves are off today, but baseball is still happening and FanDuel provides an avenue to generate interest in the festivities.
SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we will bring you regularly scheduled lineup recommendations throughout the 2016 season. On this particular day, we will tackle the "main" contest at 7:05 pm ET, and hopefully, we can take advantage of a shortened slate.
Here we go.
Note: This lineup would be used in today's 7:05 pm ET contest.
P - Felix Hernandez ($10,700)
C - Tucker Barnhart ($2,700)
1B - Prince Fielder ($2,700)
2B - Brandon Phillips ($2,700)
3B - Jake Lamb ($3,400)
SS - Didi Gregorius ($2,200)
OF - Charlie Blackmon ($4,500)
OF - Carlos Gonzalez ($3,900)
OF - Aaron Hicks ($2,400)
Coors Field, everybody!
I'm firing away with three players in today's match-up between the Rockies and D-Backs, including my top two offensive investments in Blackmon and Gonzalez. Both players are very talented and with the platoon advantage against Archie Bradley, the cost is worth it. Jake Lamb is also a favorite of mine, and facing off against Tyler Chatwood at Coors is usually a good thing.
Elsewhere, two "bargain" veterans are on display in Fielder and Phillips, and while these are very boring picks, the price point can drive value in these cases. Barnhart is in a nice match-up against Jon Niese after taking over for Mesoraco behind the plate in Cincy, and the Gregorius/Hicks combination is simply a play against Chris Young.
On the mound, there are a bunch of high-priced guys today, but Felix is the "cheapest" of those guys and in a juicy match-up against Tampa Bay's offensive. Hernandez was brutal in his last start, but the talent remains and on a day when you almost have to have an elite guy, he's my favorite value.
Good luck, all.
