The Atlanta Braves will make a roster move prior to Saturday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The team announced following Friday's game that Ender Inciarte will be activated from the disabled list as was expected. To make room for him on the roster, the team will option Adonis Garcia to Triple-A Gwinnett where the plan is he will play left field on an everyday basis.
Inciarte has been on the disabled list since the third game of the season for a strained hamstring. Inciarte wrapped up his rehab assignment in Gwinnett on Friday with a pair of hits. The biggest news of the transaction is that Mallex Smith remains on the roster after accumulating nine hits in his last six games.
Garcia opened the season as the team's third baseman. He hit well through the first 20 games but has saw his average take a dip of late. He however struggled defensively from the outset and has seen more time in left field which now looks like it may become his permanent home.
