FanDuel Fantasy Baseball Picks: May 4

There is a ton of afternoon baseball on Wednesday and we help you to navigate the slate.

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves won on Tuesday and we hope you used Matt Wisler in daily fantasy. If not, we have an opportunity for you to correct that mistake.

SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we will bring you regularly scheduled lineup recommendations throughout the 2016 season. Today, we are taking on the midday contest in an effort to give you a break from the grind, and it even coincides with Atlanta's search for back-to-back wins.

Editor's Note: New players win cash in their first league or get their entry fee refunded! Offered in partnership with FanDuel.

We'll do our best, but please, feel free to fade me.

Note: This lineup would be used in today's 12:35 pm ET "early only" contest.

P - Steven Matz ($9,000)

C - Chris Iannetta ($2,400)

1B - Joey Votto ($3,600)

2B - Ben Zobrist ($3,400)

3B - Anthony Rendon ($2,900)

SS - Andrelton Simmons ($2,200)

OF - Mike Trout ($5,000)

OF - Jay Bruce ($3,700)

OF - Jon Jay ($2,800)

I'm spending on the Reds and Angels, headlined by Votto and Trout. Both guys are legitimate studs, with Trout being even on a higher level, and each is facing a potentially juicy match-up in this afternoon slate. Beyond them, though, I love Jay Bruce in a platoon-rich spot, and even with Andrelton Simmons serving as a "punt" play given his price, there is some value there in my mind.

Elsewhere, Steven Matz takes the mound against the Braves, and while fans of this blog shouldn't be "rooting" for his dominance, left-handers have owned Atlanta this season and Matz is very talented and reasonably priced. Round things out with value buys on Zobrist and Rendon and fill in the gaps.

Let's do this together.
