On the 14th episode of the Talking Chop Podcast, Brad ditches us for California while Eric Cole and Ivan the Great join me to discuss the firing of Fredi Gonzalez. Since that's kind of a big deal, it takes up the more time of any of the other topics on this particular episode, but we get into much more.
Eric breaks down more of the draft as we inch closer to the June 9 date when it will unfold. His top three players for the Braves at the No. 3 spot are Jason Groome, Riley Pint and Kyle Lewis. You'll have to listen to find out why. Ivan also chimes on the draft discussion to talk about where the above-average pitchers in the game come from and how that relates to their draft position. A recent analysis he did might suggest that Atlanta's strategy of going for high-impact arms early is a good one.
We also field a handful of your questions on Twitter, which touch on the draft, prospects and the number of games the Braves are going to lose this season.
As always, you can find each episode of the Talking Chop Podcast via the iTunes Store or through our SoundCloud page.
I'm also curious as to what you guys think of the new music too. Let me know in the comments what kind of stuff you guys want to hear from the intro and outro music segments. Not a big deal, but fun to play around with.
Enjoy, and thanks for the listen!
