The Atlanta Braves announced following Saturday's game that they had recalled pitcher Casey Kelly and that he would start Sunday's series finale against the Philadelphia Phillies. To make room for Kelly on the roster, the Braves optioned reliever Joel De La Cruz back to Triple-A Gwinnett

The Braves acquired Kelly in a trade with the San Diego Padres in exchange for catcher Christian Bethancourt. He made his debut earlier this season in relief allowing three hits and one run over three innings of work against the Mets in late April.
He has pitched in seven games with Gwinnett making five starts and is 2-1 with a 2.63 ERA. He has struck out 29 batters in 37 2/3 innings at Triple-A.
Kelly takes Aaron Blair's spot in the rotation who was demoted earlier this week after a poor outing against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Blair was originally replaced by John Gant who was later optioned and replaced by De La Cruz on the active roster.
