Teheran sinks Pirates, Braves win 3-1

The Braves gave Julio Teheran three runs to work with and that was more than enough as they defeated the Pirates 3-1 to give Brian Snitker his first career win. Teheran pitched into the eighth inning while Tyler Flowers hit his first home run of the season. The series wraps up on Thursday with Mike Foltynewicz taking the hill for Atlanta.

Braves option Aaron Blair to Triple-A, call up John Gant

The Braves demoted rookie starter Aaron Blair prior to Wednesday's game. While Blair has shown flashes of brilliance, he struggled for the most part overall and was hit hard in Tuesday's start allowing nine runs in just 1 1/3 innings. John Gant was recalled to replace Blair on the roster but no word yet on whether Gant will take Blair's spot in the rotation.

Pendleton, Perez discuss new roles, Snitker

Fredi Gonzalez's firing was just part of an overall coaching shakeup for the Atlanta Braves. Both Eddie Perez and Terry Pendleton and adjusting to new prominent roles on interim manager Brian Snitker's staff.
