Julio Teheran made the Pirates walk the plank.

Teheran finally had enough offense behind him to earn his first win of the year, and the first for interim manager Brian Snitker, as the Braves beat the Pirates 3-1.

This was expected to be a low-scoring contest with Julio pitching very well of late and Francisco Liriano being nigh unbeatable in his home ballpark, but the Braves broke through in the third inning on Freddie Freeman's RBI single following Daniel Castro's infield hit and a walk to Nick Markakis.

Then in the sixth, Tyler Flowers tagged Liriano with a long blast to center, hitting one into the hedges for his first homer of the year.

Teheran pitched into the eighth inning allowing just five hits and did not walk a batter while striking out three.

Gordon Beckham drove in Atlanta's third run with a ninth-inning double.

Arodys Vizcaino allowed a ninth-inning homer to Jung Ho Kang, but secured the win with a four-out save.
