(19-21) Gwinnett Braves 3, (17-23) Durham Bulls 5
- Adonis Garcia, LF: 3-4, 2(2B), 2RBI, .366/.422/.732
- Rio Ruiz, 3B: 1-4, RBI, 2SO, .268/.344/.377
- Kanekoa Texeira, SP: 4.2IP, 8H, 4R, 3ER, 1BB, 3SO, 3.28 ERA
Despite totaling 12 hits, the Gwinnett Braves were limited to three runs after going 4-9 w/ RISP. A majority of the punch came from Adonis Garcia, who is in the midst of a surging hot streak. His homer streak may be finished at four games, but his torrid hitting has continued. He has a hit in every game since his demotion (11 games), but has hit for power -- especially over the last 6 games with a slash line of .364/.462/1.045. On the field he's had just 18 chances and has recorded all 18 putouts.
Gwinnett scored their first run of the game following a Jace Peterson triple followed up by an Adonis Garcia single. Jace recorded just his second extra base hit and is struggling a lot down in Gwinnett. Despite the triple, Jace is now hitting .125/.222/.200 down in AAA. Gwinnett later tacked on another run after Rio Ruiz singled in Adonis Garcia. Gwinnett was then held scoreless until the 8th inning, which is when Adonis Garcia doubled in Emilio Bonifacio.
Kanekoa Texeira was on the mound and followed his 4.2IP 8H performance from May 11th with a 4.2 IP 8 H performance but this time allowed 4 runs (3 earned). He was followed up by Joel De La Cruz who threw two effective innings allowing just two hits and one walk. Most encouraging of all was Brandon Cunniff, who allowed just one walk over two innings. The Atlanta reliever from just last year has walked 12 batters and allowed 20 hits in just 16 innings giving him a 1.92 WHIP.

(17-22) Mississippi Braves 1, (23-16) Pensacola Blue Wahoos 3
- Dansby Swanson, SS: 1-4, RBI, .281/.378/.469
- Victor Mateo, RP: 3IP, 0H, 0BB, 0R, 3K, 3.86 ERA
- Rob Whalen, SP: 4IP, 8H, 3R, 3BB, 3K, 3.79 ERA
The night belonged to Blue Wahoos pitcher Nick Travieso. He dominated the Mississippi lineup by allowing just one hit over seven innings. The lone run came in the eighth when Dansby Swanson singled in Mel Rojas Jr. That was the lone offensive threat. Rojas, .100/.217/.100, got on-base three times via three walks. That wraps it up.
This was Rob Whalen's shortest outing since April 20th, as he lasted just four innings. Oddly enough, he was allowed to hit in the top of the 5th and was then replaced by Victor Mateo who was great in yielding zero hits. I wish there was more to say but overall, this was a pretty boring game that lasted just 2 hours and 41 minutes.

(14-24) Rome Braves 1, (20-18) Columbia Fireflies 3
- Ray-Patrick Didder, CF: 1-3, R, BB, .274/.372/.400
- Jonathan Morales, C: 0-2, SF, RBI, BB, .315/.343/.423
- Mike Soroka, SP: 6IP, 5H, 3ER, 0BB, 4SO, 2.32 ERA
Just like Mississippi, this game belonged to the opposing starting pitcher, P.J. Conlon, who allowed just two hits over 6.2 IP. The lone run was scored in the 8th inning when Didder walked, took second on a single by Luke Dykstra, went to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a Morales DP SF (Dykstra thrown out at 3rd). The other hit came from Lucas Herbert who singled in the 7th and was left stranded at second. Rome left 6 stranded on base and went a collective 0-for-4 with RISP.
Soroka picked up his fourth loss of the season but was effective over six innings. After walking an uncharacteristic five batters over his last two games, he reverted back to the Soroka of old and didn't allow one. Soroka has a 0.98 WHIP on the season with just eight walks allowed. He induces a lot of weak contact as showcased by his 55% GB%.
