FanDuel Fantasy Baseball Picks: May 16

Happy Monday, y'all.

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves suffered a brutal, 13-inning loss on Sunday, but the team is back at it tonight in Pittsburgh. We have you covered with everything you need to know about that upcoming series, but elsewhere in baseball, there is a lot happening, and daily fantasy is a way to experience it in a fun way.

SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we will bring you regularly scheduled lineup recommendations throughout the 2016 season. Today, we will be looking at the "main" 7:05 pm ET slate on this shortened Monday schedule, and there is value to be extracted.

Editor's Note: New players win cash in their first league or get their entry fee refunded! Offered in partnership with FanDuel.

Let's roll.

Note: This lineup would be used in today's 7:05 pm ET contest.

P - Kenta Maeda ($8,800)

C - Victor Martinez ($3,500)

1B - John Jaso ($2,800)

2B - Derek Dietrich ($3,300)

3B - Jake Lamb ($3,000)

SS - Marcus Semien ($2,400)

OF - Giancarlo Stanton ($4,100)

OF - Christian Yelich ($3,700)

OF - Khris Davis ($3,400)

We're spending big on the Marlins.

Miami's match-up against Jerad Eickhoff looks pretty enticing to me, and we're investing heavily with big-ticket buys on Yelich and Stanton. My favorite play, though, is Dietrich in a platoon-friendly match-up, and he is somebody to deploy across the board tonight.

Elsewhere, this is a pitching night that leaves a lot to be desired, but Maeda is my favorite play available given his relative safety in a match-up against the hapless Angels. Round the squad out with high-upside guys like Davis and Lamb, combined with the steady hand of Victor Martinez, who happens to be the highest-priced catcher on the board this evening.

Let's do this together, folks. Good luck.
