Rainy weather forced the postponement of Saturday's game between the Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves, that was scheduled to take place at 2:20 p.m. ET at Wrigley Field.
The tarp was placed on the field in the morning, and with expected wet conditions for the rest of the day, the teams decided to go ahead and call the game.
While no make-up date was announced, the teams have a mutual day off on July 7, the day before the Braves are scheduled to begin a three-game series with the White Sox in Chicago.
The Braves lineup was announced prior to the announcement of cancellation, and starting pitcher Julio Teheran was slotted in the eighth spot, with Mallex Smith batting ninth. Teheran is expected to get the nod on Sunday in the series finale.
Teheran starts tomorrow. No word on Mondays starter. #Braves
