UPDATE: Miguel Montero has been scratched for Tuesday's game by the Cubs. Consider using Kevin Plawecki ($2,100) or Tyler Flowers ($2,300) in his place.
The Braves may never win again (okay, they probably will), but that won't stop us from diving in on baseball.
SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we will bring you regularly scheduled lineup recommendations throughout the 2016 season. On this fine Tuesday, we are looking at a jam-packed evening slate, with many match-ups to potentially exploit.
We'll do our best, but please, feel free to fade me.
Note: This lineup would be used in today's main 7:05 pm ET contest.
P - Max Scherzer ($10,500)
C - Miguel Montero ($2,500)
1B - Brandon Moss ($2,800)
2B - Jed Lowrie ($2,300)
3B - Travis Shaw ($2,900)
SS - Jordy Mercer ($3,500)
OF - Starling Marte ($4,400)
OF - Jason Heyward ($3,700)
OF - Jackie Bradley Jr. ($2,300)
On this particular night, I'm going back to the well with Max Scherzer. The last time I used Scherzer in this space... things didn't go particularly well. However, the talented right-hander has a home start against the ghastly Phillies, and Scherzer is at a surprisingly reasonable price point. I'm pulling the trigger.
As far as my offense is concerned, I'm loading up on platoon splits as usual. Jason Heyward and Miguel Montero have a juicy match-up against Brewers right-hander Jimmy Nelson, while I'm paying big prices for Starling Marte and Jordy Mercer in Coors Field against Jorge De La Rosa. Lastly, I am going masochistic with regard to the Braves, deploying two Boston left-handers (Shaw and Bradley Jr.) against Matt Wisler.
Let's do this together, folks. Best of luck.
