FanDuel Fantasy Baseball Picks: April 21

The Braves played early in the afternoon. Fill your evening with FanDuel.

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Hey... let's baseball.

SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we will bring you regularly scheduled lineup recommendations throughout the 2016 season. In this case, we have a bit of a shortened slate because it is Thursday and there were several early afternoon contests. I love these slates.

Editor's Note: New players win cash in their first league or get their entry fee refunded! Offered in partnership with FanDuel.

Fade me if you dare.

Note: This lineup would be used in today's main 7:05 pm ET contest.

P - Gerrit Cole ($9,700)

C - Matt Wieters ($3,000)

1B - Eric Hosmer ($3,300)

2B - Starlin Castro ($3,200)

3B - Mike Moustakas ($3,600)

SS - Alcides Escobar ($2,400)

OF - George Springer ($4,000)

OF - Alex Gordon ($2,800)

OF - Anthony Gose ($2,600)

Royals, Royals and more Royals!

The Detroit Tigers are sending Mike Pelfrey to the mound on Thursday and, well, that is grounds for a full-blown stack. Three players from Kansas City that I am using are left-handers, and even Alcides Escobar (in the lead-off spot) is a fit against a sub-par starting pitcher in Pelfrey.

My big purchase of the day comes at starting pitcher, where Gerrit Cole faces a strong match-up on the road in San Diego. The most obvious buy of the night would be Jake Arrieta in Cincinnati, but we're shying away in favor of the more off-the-radar pick with similar upside. To round things out, Wieters (against Marco Estrada after a day off) and Springer are high-level plays at their position, and Castro has been red-hot for the Yankees.

Best of luck out there.
