The Atlanta Braves will try again to score their first victory of the season when they wrap up a four-game set against the Washington Nationals. Atlanta has lost eight straight and has lost 13 straight at Nationals Park.
Matt Wisler pitched well on Wednesday except for a rough stretch in the fourth inning. Wisler allowed a solo home run to Stephen Drew and a two-run shot to Jayson Werth. Atlanta was unable to get on track offensively against Tanner Roark who threw seven shutout innings in place of scheduled starter Steven Strasburg.
Strasburg was scratched from Wednesday's scheduled start due to an illness and is an option to pitch on Thursday. If Strasburg can't go, the Nationals have yet to indicate who will although long reliever Yusmeiro Petit is the likely option.
For the Braves, Julio Teheran will be looking to bounce back from a rough performance last time out. Teheran was tagged for six hits and five runs (four earned) in just four innings of work in his last start against the Cardinals. He struggled with his command walking four more batters and has walked seven over his first 10 innings of the season.
Teheran allowed five hits and two runs over six innings against the Nationals on opening day.
