The Atlanta Braves made a couple of roster moves on Sunday prior to their series finale against the St Louis Cardinals. Atlanta recalled reliever Chris Withrow from Triple-A Gwinnett and optioned righty John Gant.

The Braves acquired Withrow in a trade with the Dodgers last season. He missed all of the 2015 season due to elbow and back injuries. He was a surprise early cut from the spring training roster but the move allowed him more time to work his way back to full health. Withrow made one appearance with Gwinnett retiring the only batter he faced.
Gant turned a strong spring performance into a spot on the Braves' opening day roster. He struggled a bit allowing six hits and four runs in three appearances with the team.
The Braves also announced that they have signed Emilio Bonifacio to a minor league deal and have assigned him to Gwinnett.

Bonifacio was one of the team's final cuts during the spring.
