The Atlanta Braves were reportedly among the teams that expressed interest in free agent outfielder Justin Upton. Upton eventually signed with Detroit and the thought was that Atlanta probably never a serious contender however, a report by MLB Network's Jon Heyman suggests that they were interested in offering a long term deal.
It's not true @JUST_JUP only had 2/3-yr chances elsewhere. His old braves team, in fact, signaled willingness to go 6 yrs.

The Tigers signed Upton to a 6-year deal worth $132 million. According to Heyman, the Braves were never going to top Detroit's offer to Upton but were willing to offer something in the $100 million neighborhood.
Braves weren't going to top tigers 22M-plus aav so never made official offer. But it's believed ATL woulda gone 100M-plus

Upton spent the 2013 and 14 seasons in Atlanta and hit 56 home runs while driving in 172 runs. He was dealt to the Padres prior to the 2015 season in exchange for Jace Peterson, Max Fried, Dustin Peterson and Mallex Smith.
