On the fourth episode of the Talking Chop Podcast, Kris Willis makes his audio debut. Brad reminisces about the Jeff Francouer of old and I just try and not get in the way of these two.
One of the big talking points on this episode — as made obvious by the title — is the situation that is Kyle Kendrick. Brad argues that Kendrick is, at best, the tenth best starting pitching option on the team at the moment and shouldn't take away a spot from one of the younger players. We also talk about the merits of holding down young guys like Aaron Blair for strictly service time reasons.
At the end of the episode we take a few questions from you readers on the site, dealing with potential trades we could see coming for the Braves before the season begins and at the Trade Deadline, and also the state of drama in and around Major League Baseball.
As always, thanks for the feedback and please keep it coming. We've been having a great time doing this and hopefully you all have as well. Feel free to check out the podcast on our SoundCloud page as well as the iTunes Store, where a rating and/or review would be extremely helpful.
Carlos and Brad talk about the news coming out of Spring Training with Kris Willis. The conversation then steers towards Kyle Kendrick, the starting rotation and the return of Jeff Francoeur. We also try and answer questions from the Talking Chop community.
