Matt Marksberry on the mend after tumultuous week
After giving Braves country a huge scare last week, reliever Matt Marksberry tweeted yesterday to confirm that he is doing much better following the life-threatening issues that resulted in him having a seizure. The worst appears to be over for Marksberry, and it is encouraging to see the young left-hander back to health after quite the traumatic week.

The Arizona Fall League will broadcast its Thursday night game between the Scottsdale Scorpions and Salt River Rafters, the latter of which is the host team for all participating Braves prospects. Right-hander Chris Ellis, who spent the majority of this season in Double-A Mississippi, will get the start for Salt River. And if that isn’t enough reason to tune in, Tim Tebow will be embarrassing himself playing for the Scorpions.
Braves high-A affiliate chooses a name
The Braves’ contract with their former high-A affiliate, the Carolina Mudcats, expired this season and gave the organization an opportunity to pursue other sites. In doing so, the Braves settled on a nameless team that would be moving to Osceola County near Orlando, Florida. Well, that team now has a name: the Florida Fire Frogs.

Cubs draw even in World Series, beating Indians 5-1
The Cubs bounced back after a disappointing game one performance, evening the series at one game apiece as the teams head back to Chicago. Jake Arrieta pitched very well, holding the Tribe to just two hits in 5.2 innings while striking out six. Kyle Schwarber shined for Chicago on offense, driving in two runs and reaching base three times. The Cubs now have an opportunity to seize control of the series at Wrigley, where they finished 57-24 in the regular season.
