Braves offseason questions: Does Nick Markakis get traded?

One of the interesting things to watch this offseason will be how the Braves decide to handle their outfield situation for next season. Atlanta has Matt Kemp, Ender Inciarte and Nick Markakis all under contract for next season with Mallex Smith waiting in the wings. Markakis’ late season surge likely improved his trade value but it may give the Braves some pause for the same reason.

Braves pitcher Marksberry hospitalized in Florida

Braves pitcher Matt Marksberry was being treated for severe dehydration in an Orlando-area hospital Wednesday after going in for a procedure unrelated to baseball.

A Facebook post from his brother Wednesday afternoon said that Marksberry was on life support. Others familiar with the situation said Wednesday night that the pitcher was unconscious but not on life support and that his vital signs were stable.
